Sustainability is a core value at Corbeo and is reflected in all aspects of our business.
We prefer natural materials: sisal, flax, cotton, jute. Wherever possible, we choose circular products. For example, our macramé cotton is made from regenerated cotton, and we offer polypropylene rope made from recycled propylene granules.
We try to use primarily mono-material packaging and as little plastic as possible. On the other hand, packaging provides protection that prevents waste in the store. So, we strive to find a balance between sustainable and functional packaging.
To contribute to the European directive on extended producer responsibility and to ensure compliance with commercial packaging waste, we are affiliated with Valipac (registration number 1100368505). We are also committed to reducing the environmental impact of our packaging that reaches the consumer. In France, we are affiliated with Citeo (registration number 535662) and ADEME (registration number FR242729_01RJIU).
Our production runs on solar energy. The solar panel system is designed to make our production energy-neutral. Furthermore, we operate in a modern and energy-efficient building that has been awarded the BEN (nearly energy-neutral) label.
Finally, we prefer electric cars, encourage our employees to come by bike, and try to work digitally as much as possible.
Throughout the company, we're strongly committed to waste management and emphasize the separation of waste streams. We have various types of waste containers, separate bins are placed at the machines for each waste stream, and we recycle wooden pallets. We also sort rope scraps separately to prevent them from being mixed with general waste.
Corbeo produces locally. This means we primarily import raw materials and semi-finished products, reducing the need for containers. This focus on short supply chains significantly reduces CO2 emissions from sea freight.
We don't just strive for profit; we're also strongly committed to diversity. For this, we received the "inclusive company" certificate in 2020.
Because we believe it's important that our partners also operate sustainably, we conduct our own inspections of suppliers and subcontractors. We verify that the correct standards are being met regarding working conditions, fire safety, child labor restrictions, and so on.
